Connections

In this article
  • Connections

Access to connections is regulated by the Connections privilege of the Automation module. To view, modify, create and delete a connection, a users must have both Read and Write access to the workspace, as well as the relevant operations enabled for the privilege.

When the privilege is enabled, and depending on the specified database in the connection settings, a list of tables stored in that database will be displayed in scripts. If the privilege is not enabled, tables will not be shown.

Note
  • Connections to ClickHouse, Greenplum, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SAP ASE, and SAP HANA databases only support local authentication within these systems. Authentication via Active Directory or other IDM systems may not work.
  • Connections to Apache Hive and Apache Impala are supported via the LDAP protocol. Kerberos authentication is not supported.
  • If authentication to these systems is not available, consider alternative data loading methods, such as exporting to CSV or using intermediate databases.

The following connections can be created:

  • Email (SMTP)
  • Apache Hive
  • Apache Impala
  • ClickHouse
  • FTP
  • Greenplum
  • HTTP
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Oracle
  • PostgreSQL
  • SAP ASE
  • SAP HANA
  • SFTP
  • SMB
Note

When configuring ClickHouse and Microsoft Exchange connections, a self-signed certificate must be used if the server URL uses the HTTPS protocol.
