Global workspace indicators allow you to:

  • Refine dashboard data
  • Configure a single indicator and apply it to all dashboards within the selected workspace
  • Reduce the risk of errors in formulas and calculations

Creating Global Workspace Indicators

To create an indicator, open the Data model tab in the workspace profile and go to the Indicators section in the left panel.

There are two types of global workspace indicators in the System:

  • Dimensions
  • Measures

You can create dimensions and measures through the Custom menu option and via table columns.

Global workspace indicators can be grouped. By default, indicators are created in the "Common" group, which cannot be deleted or renamed. To create a new group, click on + next to the Common group name. To save the group name, press Enter or click the green checkmark.

Note

It is not possible to save an empty group name.

To delete or rename a group, click the context menu icon and select the necessary option.

Access to Global Workspace Indicators

Global workspace indicators can only be edited in the Data model tab. To have editing permissions, the user must be granted the Workspace privilege. The following operations are available for working with global workspace indicators:

  • R – read
  • W – read/write/create/delete
