Edit Mode
Edit mode is available to users who have Edit access to the workspace where the dashboard was created, or Edit access to the dashboard itself.
Navigating to the Data Model
Before working with the dashboard, it's recommended to configure the Data Model. In the Data Model, you can upload your own tables, create new ones, define global workspace indicators, and configure processes. To open the Data Model, click the corresponding button.
View
Dashboards are built using views.
The left panel contains the following tabs:
- Views (for adding views)
- Indicators (for adding variables, global dashboard dimensions and measures, states, and display rules)
The right panel contains the following tabs:
- View settings
- Common widget settings
Rich Markdown Editor
The Rich Markdown Editor is a full-screen text editor. You can use it when editing a view title, widget description, or in the Text widget.
To open the editor, click its icon.
The editor supports all Markdown syntax features described on the Markdown Rules page. Text formatted in the editor appears visually distinct from regular text.
In the Rich Markdown Editor, the Variables tab is available on the right panel. To insert a variable into the text, click it.
To view a Markdown syntax reference, click the icon to the right of the editor’s title.
Widgets
Descriptions of available widgets and their settings are provided on the Widgets page.
Dashboard Indicators
In the Indicators tab, you can add global dashboard indicators. Detailed information about them is available on the Global Dashboard Indicators page.
You can also create states by clicking + State. There is no limit to the number of states you can create. To rename a state, select it and enter a new name. To delete a state, select it and click Delete.
In this tab, you can add display rules by clicking + Rule. For each rule, specify a name and a color.
The following color configuration modes are available:
- Solid
- By dimension
- Gradient (to avoid excessive intermediate colors, set the number of classes between 3 and 10)
- Custom (by formula)
Dashboard Draft
A draft is created automatically when you enter dashboard edit mode.
- If the user enters edit mode for the first time, newly added widgets behave as follows:
- The Process Explorer is built using the default event and transition indicators
- All other widgets are empty
- The most recent changes are visible to all users who have dashboard edit access.
- All changes are saved automatically.
- When multiple users are editing simultaneously, changes are finalized after the last user exits edit mode.
- When you save the dashboard, it is published and becomes available for viewing.
